Azzuri Bay

Azzuri Bay has been our choice for anniversary dinner for the past couple of years. Yes. For the awesome ambiance and super tasty food. The place has a rooftop restaurant in the 3rd floor with AC or non AC option. The view of the city from the restaurant is brilliant during dinner time. Ofcourse you've to forget that the bay happens to be the nasty looking adyar river. But trust me its so beautiful during the night with loads of lights running around.

We started with chicken on sugarcane skewers, chilli paneer, falafel with pita bread/hummus and veg dimsums. The chicken tasted excellent with a hint of lemon grass n chilli with a kick of mild sweetness from the sugarcane skewers. But the outside layer was too thick n felt overcooked. The chilli paneer lived up to its name :) For the first time i liked this dish. With way too soft melt in the mouth kind of panner pieces hot and spicy with flash fried garlic pods (gave a lift to the dish) and crunchy caramelized onion was too good. The dimsums were so so. I liked the cruchiness provided by the peanuts in the filling. The tom kha soup tasted good with lime and galangal and generous amount of chicken and mushrooms.

We were already stuffed so sticked with a single main course. Pad thai. We went for the flat noodles version with chicken. Medium spicy, the crunchiness from the sprouts and peanuts, well cooked meat it was good. But we did a mistake of not ordering a curry to go with it. First time when were here we had it with thai red curry which was way too good.

R, not a lover desserts, particularly cakes fell in love with their Tres Leche :) Vanilla sponge soaked in milk served with fresh cream n some cut fruits is out of this world. Can be a bit heavy but not for me.

Overall, a restaurant with excellent ambiance, food with quality and quantity and very good service.
