Fusilli Reasons

A small hole in the wall kinda place. Self service. No menu card. In fact you can write the menu behind a bus ticket. Just garlic bread, nachos and pasta (2-3 variations under each) and couple of drinks. No pleasing/soothing ambiance. You have to stand for quiet some time in a cramped place. Yet this place is always crowded, just because of the no fuss, simple, pocket friendly food that is served here. These are few reasons to eat at Fusilli Reasons.

Have been eyeing this place for a long time. My previous two attempts to dine at this place was not successful. Last time, after gulping lassi and dunking jalebi, I felt a bit full to go to the kebab place as planned. So me and brother decided to return home and have some fruits for dinner, if in case we feel hungry. While coming back, we were just nearing Kilpauk and all of a sudden this thought of trying out Fusilli Reasons hit us. No more discussions we went straight ahead to this place. Located on the lane opposite to the Kannappa tiffins (famous for the thatte idly), it was again full as usual. Just 3 tables that can accommodate 12 people and another table outside the shop. Brother didn't want to wait first, and later he said we will take the food and eat it near the bike. I was not upto that. We waited for 10 minutes and finally a gang, who were licking there plates from the time we arrived was kind enough to leave the place :) We ordered an assorted garlic bread, a pesto pasta, nachos and iced tea & tang. The garlic bread was firm and crisp at the edges and soft in the centre. Three pieces of this, topped with different flavoured mayonnaise. The beetroot mayonnaise (finely diced beetroot mixed up with mayonnaise), cheese and pesto flavoured mayonnaise. Though it was a nice idea to incorporate beetroot with mayo, I didn't find it that impressive as raved. Again talk about all the hypes created and it is just good. The nachos came in with a bigger portion, with yummy sauce and cheese. But I'm not a big fan of these packeted nachos. I find them too salty and tangy. So just licked away the sauce leaving the nachos.

The iced tea and tang was good as it is. We ordered for a pesto pasta and got a white pasta indeed. They mixed up the order and on notifying, they offered to give us one more portion of pasta. Since we were too full, we politely refused. So the owner gave us back the money for the pasta, which was really a sweet gesture. The white pasta was hot and yummy. Cheesy and creamy with good amount of bell peppers and broccoli sprinkled with chilli flakes and dried herbs, it was too good.

Soon they are opening another outlet in Gopalapuram. A very pocket friendly place with school/college kids as the target customers. This is indeed a Value For Money kinda place. You can hog as much as you want without burning your wallet.
