Naattu Kozhi Biriyani @ Mustak Hotel, Vaniyambadi

After witnessing the making of biriyani right from the beginning and also gulping a small portion of it, we headed to Mushtaq hotel in Vaniyambadi to taste their Naattu Kozhi Biriyani. Available only on Wednesdays and Sundays. They start serving as early as 7 am and they get over by 10-10.30 am. We could see people waiting with thooku chattis :P to get their share. Kushka priced at Rs.70 & Biriyani priced at Rs.170, they were literally flying out of the deksa.

Aromatic, medium spicy,  nil irritant biriyani with two chunks of meat (one being leg piece). Looking at the size of the leg piece, it must  be rooster. No accompaniments. Meat was well cooked and was pretty soft too. We weren't hungry and we just wanted to taste the biriyani. But the portion for a normal eater would be less. Also I felt the biriyani to be greasy. I could feel a thick layer of fat while washing hands. On Mondays & Thursdays they serve Mutton biriyani.

If you are visiting Vaniyambadi for the first time, do try them out. I won't be interested to make another visit to this place.
