I've been hearing mixed reviews about this place from friends and fellow foodies. Some said it was too good and some said it was way below average. Because of this 50-50 feedback I was not much interested in checking out this place. Infact ruled out this place when we were deciding on some fine dining places.

Yesterday, best buddie of mine visited me. She was on vacation and wanted to dine out. We had some restrictions on time frame, so we decided to check this place. OMG !! I'm literally cursing myself for not trying this place till now. First class ambiance and the royal treatment (of course reflected in the bill as 10% service charge) makes you feel that you are pampered :) Stunning interiors, pleasant to they eye, classic cutleries created a very big expectation on the food.

The menu had Mexican, Italian and Indian (North - Indian). They also had a buy one get one free offer on Italian menu. Since we were not interested in Italian or anything continental for that matter, we skipped that part of the menu. We had tamatar shorba for soup and sarsonwala paneer and karkara palak chat for the starters. The shorba was a bit on the sweeter side, but after seasoning with pepper it tasted great. If not mentioned in the menu, I would've not believed I was eating palak. Crispy fried palak, sweetened curd and sev the chat was different. Sarsonwala paneer was recommended by the staff. It was just brilliant. Softest paneer, marinated well with mustard paste, it was great. And the accompanying green chutney was good too.

We wanted to keep the main course simple. So ordered a roti ki tokri aka bread basket and a veggie curry called jantar mantar. When I asked for suggestion on ordering another curry, the steward advised that one curry will be sufficient and if at all we need another one, he promised to deliver within 5mins. Later we realised how true he was. We over estimated our appetite. After couple of breads, felt stuffed till the nose. The veg curry was rich, creamy n tangy with well cooked vegetables and the corn gave a nice crunch. Regarding the bread basket, the wheat paratha. makki roti n the naan with onion seeds were good.

The chandan serbet was very sweet for me. But the flavour was very different. The litchi teheri aka litchis in rabdi was divine. Though the litchis were less in the dessert, the rabdi was yummm with loads of badam.

The service very good. Well trained staffs, with good knowledge about the menu, very polite and attentive. Infact, when I was clicking some photos, the steward patiently waited and served the food later. When asked for the bill, they served paan shots. It was paan flavoured chilled milk and was brilliant.

All these, with service tax and 10% of service charge the bill summed up to 1500 bucks. I found it pricey, but for the fine dining label, the uniqueness in menu and flavour and the quality of the food it was ok.
