400 Degree F Barbeque, T.Nagar - Food Bloggers Meet

Chennai is witnessing a lot of Barbecue themed restaurants. Few places like AB, BBQ Nation are doing good. Others are struggling hard to get there. As a part of CFG's (FB Food Group) blogger initiative, we were invited to 400 Degree F Barbeque to try the new menu at the renovated/extended place.

The roof top ambiance was breathtaking. Though the tables are quite a few, the whole set up with green plants, candles and the twinkling sky, it was very pleasing. Unfortunately on that day it was raining heavily and we couldn't sit outside. They also have an air conditioned dining space which is quiet big and bright with colourful decors and pleasing music (actually a big thumbs up for the music)

Our table was flooded with an array of starters. They have around 7-8 veg & non-veg starters. I mostly had the non-veg starters. Amidst all the Banjara kebab was amazing. Succulent, well marinated meat was simply yummy. The mutton shikumpuri (minced mutton patties served over honey drizzled paratha), their signature dish, Tangri Kebab, prawns and afghan murgh were good. Out of the veggie items I had, the dahi kebab was very unique but quiet sweet to my liking of kebab. The aloo murabba was well marinated and tasted good. The paneer tikka was soft and juicy.

The starters kept coming and we were too full for main course. Still I had a spoon of few items here and there. The Omelette masala curry, butter chicken, bhindi masala and mix vegetable korma were simply delicious. Most of the bbq places don't concentrate much on the main course. But here the spread was huge and as far as the dishes I tasted were excellent. The chicken dum biriyani and the navratan pulao tasted pretty good and paired up well with the prawn chettinad.

What makes you sad? For me leaving the place without tasting each and every dessert makes me sad :P Even though I had just a spoonful from the main course, I was too too full to gobble the desserts. I kept myself to the mousse, gulab jamun and vanilla ice cream. The gulab jamun was delicious. Soft, warm little ones along with the vanilla ice cream was a heavenly combo. Fellow foodies seemed to enjoy the carrot halwa and the oreo cheesecake.

Since this was a bloggers meet, I'm avoiding commenting about the service and pricing. But learnt that the pricing is 700 for dinner and little less for lunch. Given the spread and taste, I would say that it will be worth the money package.
