Chamiers Cafe

This place used to be our regular hangout long time ago. Eventually the distance and other pocket friendly places held us from visiting this place. Recently, after a wonderful lunch at Absolute Thai, we decided to check out Chamiers cafe for some desserts. This place still has its charm.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I have dined in both the settings and any day I prefer the elegant and classy indoor. I always stick to cappuccino, fries and desserts here. I've tasted all three variants of the cappuccino - regular, hazelnut and caramel. All the three variants taste perfect with strong flavours. And the small piece of chocolate that they give along with the cappuccino elevates the flavour to another level. All these time we used to stick to their chocolate cake or cheese cake. Last time I had the Banofee cream pie. OMG !! It was fantabulous. With the crumbly buttery base, caramelised bananas and the thick, rich condensed milk based sauce was just divine. Theobrama and the blueberry cheese cake were yumm as usual.

Last time three of us were there during lunch time. Kid wanted to have pasta. So ordered a Pasta Al Funghi for him. The penne pasta in basil infused bechamel sauce with mushroom and olives along with succulent pieces of chicken was good. Kid enjoyed it thoroughly. I felt it needed a little more salt and the basil flavour was strong. But it was creamy and cheesy. Friend had Pan seared Basa. A fillet of basa with mashed potatoes and some salad. I felt it to be very bland. And after squeezing almost half a lemon, it was okayish for me. Neither the mashed potatoes nor the salad were worth mentioning. The eggless lemon pudding topped with fresh kiwis was delicious. Tangy n creamy pudding with buttery, thick base was very refreshing. The walnut brownie was very chocolate-y and kid loved it.

This is a place where you can catch up with friends or spend time with a book. Service is very very slow. I've always had company while I was here so it didn't bother me. But if you are single and going there only for food, then this place may not stand up to you in terms of service. Cost is also on the higher side. Cappuccino is 190 ++ and the desserts and short eats starts from 150 onwards. Last time I paid 375 ++ for the pasta and 425++ for the fish.
