It's been quite a long time since I ate out. Five days to be accurate :P Sudden lunch plan and we decided to check this place out as it was getting lots of positive reviews. A group of 3 (2 herbivores and 1 omnivore) hungry ppl managed to travel around 20 kilometres to see what Skewered had to offer. Arcot road, Valasaravakkam is all we knew about the location. Google maps did an excellent job as usual and we even managed to park the car in that busy full of traffic area. Place is pretty small, with bar stools in one section and the usual one which will hold about 16-20 ppl. We settled down and placed orders for drinks, kebabs and other stuffs.

Mr. Srivatsav (owner I presume) was very helpful and he was happy to customise few of the orders. Orange tang and Gol was our choice for drinks. Nothing can go wrong with chilled tang and the gol was something very new and unique. Liquid version of the mint chutney aka the dip was thick and spicy with mild hint of lemon and tasted great.

I ordered achari chicken kebab while folks went with veg sheek kebab. That chicken kebab was the best example for how an achari kebab should be. Right from the taste, smell it did justice to the name in every bite. And the meat was so soft and juicy and had soaked in the marination beautifully. Veg sheek kebab was amazing as well. Moist well done kebabs. A special mention to the dip. All the places serve just two types of dip with kebabs. Mint or Mayo. They had something called House Spl Spicy Dip. Oh my my !!! It was a fusion between thokku and onion tomato chutney but tasted brilliant. Very spicy with rich flavours it was simply delicious.

We also had the KaPoW - a twist to the usual vada pav. Toasted pav (that pav took a butter bath) stuffed with pickled onions, capsicum and paneer tikka (customised) was yummy. That too we smothered the pav with spicy dip and there was a firework in our taste buds. The Kracken - khakra topped with hariyali paneer (customisation) was fresh and delicious. Crispy khakra topped with hariyali panner and generous dose of onions, capsicum and coriander was very good.

Total bill was 490 bucks, which is absolute VFM. Service was top notch rite from the beginning. They informed that food will take 15-20 mins, were ready to customise, checked with us periodically for spice levels and kept filling the glasses even before asking. All these but they were not intrusive. Loved the food and I'm definitely going back to try more.
