Kaiyendhi Bhavan, Thiruvanmiyur

We were returning from Thiruvanmiyur beach after showing our support for the protest on Jallikattu issue. Women and kids were very hungry. On our way the making of muttai dosai at a kaiyendhi bhavan increased our hunger levels magnanimously. They had idli, chappathi, plain dosai and muttai dosai along with kalakki, omelette and half boil. Sambhar, chicken kuruma, kara chutney (onion tomato chutney) and coconut chutney were the sides.

Food was served piping hot from the tawa to the plate. The lady who was preparing dosais was very organised, patient and she was ready for any type of customisation. We kept asking her for lot of favours. Like no onion in kalakki for the kids. Extra onions for us in muttai dosai and so on. She obliged to all our requests with a smile. Chicken kuruma was perfect in all aspects. Loved the medium spicy, thengai araichu vitta (coconut based) gravy which went well with the dosais. Both the chutneys were fresh. Especially the kara chutney. It was yummy and we were eating it as such :P

Plain dosai was for 20, egg dosai for 30, kalakki/omelette/half boil for 10 each. We ate for about 350bucks and did parcel too :)

This place is located in the kottivakkam kuppam road. When coming from RTO, take the right on the junction of the kottivakkam kuppam road. You'll find a vegetable shop on ur left and a few mtrs away from it, this place will be on the opposite side.

The immense satisfaction one gets at these kind of places is beyond words.
